How to make fillet mignon on the grillroom

We love steak, and the fillet mignon is one of my favorite cuts. For this cut, there are a set of ways you can cook it, but the samara is to not overcook the meat. Filets are a pretty list steak, and cooking them past average is a waste .

  1. Season the steak with salt, pepper, and optionally your favorite steak rub.
  2. Place the steak on a searing hot grill and cook for a few minutes a side, until the internal temperature reaches the desired “pull at” temp (see below).

How to make shrimp in whiskey garlic sauce

  1. Season the shrimp & saute.
  2. Add the butter. Let cook. Add the bourbon. Let it cook. Add the cream. Reduce the heat.
  3. Remove the shrimp, reduce the sauce.
  4. Stack the shrimp on top of the steak. Pour the sauce on top of the whole thing.
  5. Devour.

Whiskey Garlic Shrimp Steak Topper

ButcherBox Filet Mignon with Creamy Shrimp Sauce
tender shrimp cooked in butter and then sauced with whiskey and cream ! Perfect to spoon over the top of a nice steak .

Ingredients

  • 1 pound raw shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1 tablespoon oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 2 ounces bourbon
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 teaspoon chopped parsley

Instructions

  1. Heat a large sauté pan on your stovetop on medium high heat.
  2. While the pan is coming up to temp, put the shrimp in a bowl and add in the salt, onion powder, and granulated garlic, then mix.
  3. Pour the oil in the pan.
  4. Add The shrimp to the pan by laying them down flat in the pan in a single layer.
  5. Add the butter to the center of the pan and let it melt and spread out.
  6. After one minute, flip the shrimp to the other side and let them cook another minute.
  7. Add the bourbon and let it cook for thirty seconds.
  8. Add in the cream and bring it to a simmer.
  9. Reduce the heat to medium low to prevent the cream from burning to the bottom of the pan.
  10. Remove the shrimp from the pan and let the remaining sauce simmer until it reduces and begins to thicken.
  11. Pour the sauce on top of the shrimp and garnish with a little Italian parsley.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to 450°.
  2. Season the steaks well with salt and pepper. Go heavy here! Meat needs decent amounts of salt and pepper to help enhance the flavor.
  3. Place on the grill and grill for approximately 5 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches your desired doneness level (see notes).
