- Chop some green onion.
- Microwave 30 grams of unsalted butter for about 30 seconds.
- Put the melted butter in a large mixing bowl. Add 1 tablespoon of sugar, a pinch of salt, and give it a good mix.
- Add the chopped green onions and mix it again.
- Slice the bread. Cut all the way around leaving the bottom about a half-inch.
- Put some green onion spread and a good amount of shredded cheese in between the slices.
- Cook at 180℃/355℉ for about 7 to 10 minutes. Enjoy~!
#2 Sotteok Sotteok Ingredients: rice cakes, sausage, bamboo skewer, Korean chili paste(gochujang, 고추장), regular soy sauce, oyster sauce, tomato ketchup, sugar, minced garlic, corn syrup, cooking oil, sesame seeds, parsley flakes
- Soak bamboo skewers in some water.
- Soak rice cakes in HOT water for about 10 minutes
- In a mixing bowl, put 1 tablespoon of Korean chili paste, 0.5 tablespoon of soy sauce, 0.5 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 3 tablespoons of ketchup, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 0.5 tablespoon of minced garlic, 1 tablespoon of corn syrup, and give it a good mix.
- Once the rice cakes get soft, pat dry them with paper towels.
- Let’s skewer the rice cake and sausage, one by one.
- Wrap handles with foil. (optional)
- Place them in the basket and spray some oil on both sides. Cook at 180℃/355℉ for about 7 minutes.
- Spread the sauce on both sides. Let it continue to cook for another 3 minutes.
- Transfer it to a serving plate and finish it off with some sesame seeds and parsley flakes. Enjoy~!
#3 Garlic Butter Shrimp ( 1 serve ) Ingredients: frozen/raw shrimp(9-12), garlic(8-10), unsalted butter, lemon(optional), hot rice or bread, salt, black pepper, fish sauce, parsley flakes, lemon(optional)
- Depending on the size, defrost 9 to 12 shrimp with COLD water. FYI, I used 12 shrimp.
- Pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels.
- Smash 8 cloves of garlic and finely mince it.
- Slice 2 cloves of garlic. (optional)
- In a mixing bowl, put 3 tablespoons of melted unsalted butter, minced garlic, a pinch of salt, black pepper, 0.5 tablespoon of fish sauce, and give it a good mix.
- Pour half of the sauce and place your shrimp nicely into an oven-safe container.
- Pour the rest of the sauce and toss it around.
- Cook at 180℃/355℉ for about 10 minutes.
- Turn them over and add the sliced garlic. Let it cook for another 7 minutes.
- Transfer it to a serving plate. Garnish it with some parsley flakes & a slice of lemon.
- Serve with a hot bowl of rice or bread. Enjoy~!
#4 Korean-Style Pork Ribs ( 2 servings ) Ingredients: baby back ribs(600g), green onion(optional), regular soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, corn syrup, Mirin(미림) or any kind of cooking wine, olive oil, minced garlic, black pepper, onion/garlic powder(optional), lemon, sesame seeds
- Remove the membrane on the back with paper towels.
- Once you removed the membrane, cut these into individual ribs.
- Give them a rinse under COLD water. Pat dry the ribs with paper towels.
- In a mixing bowl, put 2.5 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon of sugar, 1 tablespoon of corn syrup, 1 tablespoon of Mirin, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, a few shakes of black pepper and mix it well.
- Add 1 tablespoon of onion powder and 1 tablespoon of garlic powder. (optional)
- Squeeze half of a lemon.
- Let’s pour the marinade over the ribs. Make sure everything is well coated. If you have some time to marinate, put them in a fridge for about 30 minutes.
- Cook at 180℃/355℉ for about 10 minutes.
- Turn them over and let it continue to cook for another 10 minutes.
- Transfer it to a serving plate. Sprinkle some green onions and sesame seeds on top. Enjoy~!
