What could be better than a Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae during the hot summer days ? nothing. This dessert is a giant. So rich, decadent, fudgy, and angelic. Straight up absurd, but mama mia, that quick chocolatey elf with the cold internal-combustion engine cream gets me every.single.time .
Main Ingredients Needed
- Brownies – this can be a store-bought brownie mix made with eggs, oil, and water or make homemade brownies!
Toppings
- Ice Cream – once again, use the store-bought stuff or if you have the time, make some homemade ice cream.
- Maraschino Cherries – and to top your sundae off, you’re going to need some bright red cherries!
- More Toppings – and to top it all off consider these other toppings! Nuts, sprinkles, chocolate syrup, caramel syrup, marshmallows, or fruit!
For the Hot Fudge
- Heavy Cream – this adds creaminess and some essential fat.
- Light Corn Syrup + Brown Sugar – both are used for thickening and sweetening.
- Cocoa Powder + Chocolate Chips – for all of the chocolatey flavor!
- Salt – to balance the sweet.
- Unsalted Butter – if all you have is salted butter, omit the salt.
- Vanilla – for a subtle flavor.

Step 1: Make Brownies

Hot Fudge Brownie
If you’re looking for ridiculously decadent brownies, you’ve come to the right place. This Hot Fudge Brownie recipe is SO good!
Ingredients

1 box brownie mix + eggs, oil and water
for the hot fudge-

2/3 cup big cream

▢
1/2 cup light corn syrup

▢
1/3 cup brown sugar
-
▢
1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
-
▢
1/4 teaspoon salt
-
▢
3/4 cup chocolate chips divided in one-half

▢
1 1/2 tablespoons unsalted butter
-
▢
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
-
▢
vanilla ice cream
-
▢
maraschino cherries
for trim
Instructions

Make and bake a box of brownies according to package directions.

While brownies are baking, place cream, corn syrup, brown sugar, cocoa, salt, and half the chocolate chips into a small saucepan. Place over medium heat and stir frequently until it comes to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and lightly simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat and whisk in remaining chocolate, butter, and vanilla. Pour sauce into a separate bowl to cool until brownies are done baking.

Once brownies are done baking, cool 5-10 minutes and poke holes into it. Drizzle 3/4 cup prepared hot fudge overtop brownies and spread to saturate evenly. Sit another 10 minutes or so, then cut into squares and serve with ice cream and cherries.
