even though these are called “ cookies ” they ’ re in truth not cookies at all, but I find them to be a delicious cookie alternate for holiday gifts and sugarcoat, bake sales, and even leaving out for Santa ( wink flash ) .
They ’ re not made with flour or butter, but alternatively entirely require 4 simple ingredients – chocolate chips, peanut butter chips, peanuts and chow mein noodles. Yup, zhou mein noodles ! You can use the tight-fitting ones that come in the can or you can use the across-the-board ones that are normally sold in a bag, I prefer the wide ones .

Who knew that crunchy chow mein noodles could be so delectable covered in semi-sweet chocolate ?

How to Make Chow Mein Cookies

These are no bake cookies so they ’ rhenium easy, peasy ( as my daughter would say ) .

  1. Prepare a cookie sheet with wax paper on it for easy cleanup.
  2. In a medium saucepan melt chocolate chips and peanut butter chips over low-medium heat, until completely melted. Remove saucepan from stove.
  3. Add chow mein noodles and peanuts to the saucepan and mix. You want to do this quickly as the chocolate will set fast.
  4. Spoon out tablespoon size mixture and place onto wax paper. Continue doing this until you have no more mixture left. Add a pinch of sea salt on top if you’d like.
  5. Place in refrigerator for 2 hours before serving. Enjoy!

once you melt the chips in a sauce pan, you ’ re going to add your chow mein noodles and peanuts into it, mixing around quickly ( the chocolate sets cursorily ). You ’ vitamin d think that adding the zhou mein noodles to melted chocolate would cause them to get doughy, but alternatively they keep their crunch !
