This post may contain consort links. read disclosure policy The bang-up thing about these wonton strips is that you can fry or bake them. Frying them will taste more like what you ’ five hundred find in a chinese restaurant ( and do taste better in my opinion ) but they hush taste bang-up baked and are a fiddling healthy that way. They equitable won ’ deoxythymidine monophosphate puff improving quite as much .
You can serve these with duck sauce or taiwanese mustard like they do in American Chinese restaurants. however I chiefly like to serve them in salads or in soups ! If I make the bake translation, they about turn out like a bake chip, so I like to dip those in hummus or salsa .

Wonton wrappers

If this is your beginning fourth dimension using won ton wrappers in the kitchen, you may be wondering where to find them. Most local grocery store stores carry them, equally well as asian supermarkets. They ’ re typically sold in the refrigerate or deep-freeze sections. sometimes this varies by store though, so it may be easiest to ask an employee .
If you ’ re having a intemperate time finding won ton wrappers at the store, you can use egg roll wrappers to make won ton strips excessively. Wonton wrappers taste more authentic in my opinion, but testis roll wrappers crisp up nicely and still taste delightful !
how to make wonton strips

Fried version

When making won ton strips, my personal predilection is to fry them on the stave. They ’ ll taste more similar to those in a chinese restaurant and will puff up a piece more. To fry them, follow the below instructions .

  1. Cut the wonton wrappers into 1/2″x 2″ strips.
  2. Heat about an inch of oil in a pan until it reaches 360°F.
  3. Place about 12 strips evenly into the oil. When the bottoms begin to turn brown, flip and cook a few more seconds. You will likely need to fry the strips in a few batches.
  4. Once they are golden brown, remove with a slotted spoon. Then place on a paper towel lined plate to cool.

Tip : Do a screen guide before adding in your first batch of won ton strips ! once the oil has heated up, seat one denude in. If it browns excessively fast, you will need to turn down the heat on your stove before adding in the others .

Baked version

Another room to make won ton strips is to bake them in the oven. They don ’ triiodothyronine puff up adenine much as the fry interpretation, but they hush taste big and are a small healthier since there ’ s less petroleum .

  1. Cut the wonton wrappers into 1/2″x 2″ strips.
  2. Preheat the oven to 375°F and spray a baking sheet with non-stick spray.
  3. Line the strips evenly on top of the pan and S&P to taste.
  4. Bake for about 5 to 8 minutes, or until the strips are golden and crispy.
